Montego Bay ZL - 1

First week in Montego Bay has been great! MoBay is a beautiful place, with a beautiful branch, with some stellar members. I'm serving in a tripanionship right now. Elder Jones and I are the Zone Leaders in the northcoast, and Elder Galbraith is serving with us for the transfer. Elder Jones is one of the more experienced missionaries in the JKM. He's been zone leader in the Bahamas and he's been in MoBay for the past 3 months. He's from the middle of nowhere in Wyoming. The nearest town has a population of a whopping 15 people. He's a hard-working, obedient, spiritually powerful missionary. Elder Galbraith is from Northern Utah (Boise, Idaho).

The branch here is great! Very strong members with very strong testimonies. I always love Jamaican fast and testimony meetings. Church is Montego Bay is different than church in Linstead and Spanish Town because tourists attend our branch as well! Ha! I've seen more white people in the past week than I have in the past 10 months! Haha!

We have a good teaching pool right now. We had 3 investigators on date for baptism all attend church this past Sunday. One of them, Audrei, waits 90 minutes for the 1 taxi that passes through her home wayyyy out in the bush on Sunday in order to make it to church. She'll make a great member in a few weeks. The branch is thriving and the zone is thriving. We drove to Ocho Rios yesterday for a baptismal interview..... WOW is the northcoast pretty! Hadn't seen this side of the island yet so I'm definitely excited to be serving here!

Just so happens that my cousin Kinzie and here husband Austin were in MoBay on their honeymoon and President Brown allowed for us to meet them at the airport on Friday morning. That was a great experience for a missionary!

Likkle more and nuff love,

Elder Ritchie
